tire shopping!

Hey all, I'm currently in the market for new tires as my current ones are wearing down which are 245 75 17 BF Goodrich all-terrains. They served me well but I need something that does better in muddy conditions. My current rig is a JKU, stock suspension but I do plan on leveling it out with the Teraflex kit once I decide on a tire. I don't rock crawl at all and don't intend to. I mostly do trail runs and want a happy medium between my current tire and a mudder. I'd also like to size up a bit. Thoughts and recommendations welcome and thanks in advance.

Duratracs will get recommended many times. That's what I have ran on my last 4 sets for a couple vehicles.

Thanks Dallas. What size would you recommend as I plan on keeping the stock 17s and am planning on the leveling kit.

I run 315's with flat fenders and leveling springs. And I could run 37's. For what you described I would say 33's.

I'm swaying towards the Duratraxs also.. 32's or 33's and I've had a set of grabbers as well as the grabber AT2.. both of those failed deplorably.. Mainly the AT2's.. A General tire sales rep told me these tires would last 60K miles and although we didn't abuse the grabbers.. they failed at 36K miles.. So you're currently running the Grabbers.. apparently they've amended the specs on these since we had them back in 04 - 06

A handful of guys from my jeep club just suggested the duratracs. Going to do some more research tonight but I'm leaning towards these as of now.

I bought some of the first Duratracs when they came out, been happy with them in all kinds of conditions. Just keep them rotated on a regular basis
83,000 miles on the 265-75-16s I'm running and still throwing Ohio snow off the roads and fields

Pardon.. but are you going to run the stock 5 spoke wheel or purchase something different?..

These are Goodyear Duratracs 285/70/17 on stock wheels.

I've had a great experience with my AT2's. Deep mud in Colorado and clay mud in Utah. Deep snow, -30 degree icy roads, 110 degree desert highways. No issues. Resistant to cupping, never need air. Never needs rebalanced.

it's not a true mudder but the tire will perform with speed through mud.

They are also great on the highway. They make noise but it's no different than bfg a/t.

Old "grabbers" are different tires. So watch the reviews on those.

I'm not concerned with whether or not my tires last 60k miles. I want something that is reliable and will get me home no matter where I go anytime of year. I replace my tires at 6/32 anyway.
