Just picked up a 1998 gen 2.5 Montero, and am looking for some advice or actual data on tire size and the effects on mileage. I like tall and skinny, so 33x10.5 is a consideration. My driving is mostly rural, and relatively flat so the taller tire and rotational mass might not be a big deal, but I am also unsure of gen 2.5 gearing. From reading other posts on the subject it sounds like 33's might be pushing it. 32x11.5 is the other option, but a wider tire has more drag- and how are the 32x11.5's on the oem wheels? not interested in aftermarket wheels. And lastly- I have a set of Montero Sport 16x7 three spoke alloys, not sure of the backspacing, but this opens up my options as well. Not planning a lift at this point, or bumpers. Trying to keep things light. Thanks
