Guy down the street is selling this trailer for 100$, it would be perfect to tow behind the jeep. Only question is how can you tell what the bolt pattern is. Id wanna swap out these tires for matching jeep tires. I dont really need it to be super off road worthy , just want it it to match the jeep, may build a wooden drawer sytem and just mount a roof top tent to it. I dont want get into swapping out axles and all that (cause i have no idea how) Suggestions?

Count the lugs. Imagine the centers of the lugs as a circle. The diameter of that circle is your bolt circle.

For example...

5 lugnuts

Gives you the 5

Then you measure the circle of the 5 lugs and it gives you 4.5"

You could measure from the center of the axle or wheel out to a single lug as long as you multiply it by 2. Say you measured from the center of the axle shaft to the center of a lugnut and got 2.24" you would then multiply it by 2 and get 4.5"

This would equal 5 x 4.5 which is a common bolt circle.

Perhaps the easiest way may be to make a simple measurement tool from scrap cardboard. Hold a piece up to your jeep wheel mark the lug distance from center with a pen then bring the cardboard piece with you to measure the trailer to verify its the same.

Hye

The thing was just hit with a steel brush then sand blasted so I think its in pretty good shape. Even if the bolt pattern doesnt match teh jeeps it would be pretty easy to just slap a rim on there correct? I wont be able to see it till teh end of the week. When I said down the street I meant relatively close not literally down the street:sombrero:

Yeah the right rim or adaptor wheel spacers would do the trick. Good luck with it. Looks like a good buy. Especially if it's titled.

Might be the picture , but it sure looks like the axle is mounted way forward on the leafs. Does it have coils also?

Looks to be 5 on 5.5" in the pics. If it has a title it's worth $100 even if you scrap it and use thye title on your build.
