towing with a 2002 frontier

I am looking for something to use as a trailer for my CC frontier. I think it is around 5000# tow capacity.
I am thinking m416 or m101a2 the m101 is 1300# but is more the size I need.
I am hoping folks with real world experience could clue me in would the m101 with lots of stuff and built up tow OK or should I keep looking for a m416?
Should I get a trans cooler? I am looking a mostly on road towing.

I don't have much tow experience with my cc but i think a trans cooler is a must. I know after a lot of wheeling the trans temp gets uncomfortably high.

Well, a cooler won't hurt. I assume you have an auto, in that case I definately would.

Real world~ I towed a 3500lb trailer up from the lower 48 in 4 days. Equipped with an auto trans w/no cooler and O/D off. It did just fine but it did drink the fuel. :ylsmoke:
