A look at a Toyota FJ Cruiser rear bumper we just finished up.
In this build:
The customer was always dragging the bumper to the point where it had just about torn it off. We cut off the frame off just behind the rear body mounts to increase departure angle and bringing the bumper closer to the body. He tows a small trailer so a receiver tube was necessary and incorporating it in the tube was a must. Making sure to keep anything from hanging below the bumper like the the stock one. Recovery points/ shackle mounts were added to both sides. Doing something a little different here we made the two side corners bolt on just in case they need to be replaced or additional body modifications need to be made. With this build we tried to keep it simple and clean.
What do you guys think?
