Toyota pickup vs Samurai questions

I realize that I am comparing apples to oranges but I am wondering how much more capable the samurai with the solid front axle would be compared to a 1993 regular cab Toyota 4x4 with the short box and IFS. I just bought 2 identical Toyotas to put on the ranches in Sonora Mexico but have always wanted a Samurai and had a really nice tin top come up for sale

The size comparison is as follows

Toyota
Length- 175"
WB- 103"
Width- 66.5"

Suzuki samurai
Length-135"
WB-80"
Width-61"

I would use them for forest service roads and never do any rock crawling. Something like Pearl Pass here in CO would be the toughest think inwould attempt. Would love to hear y'alls thoughts

I answered in your other nearly identical thread.

I just saw that and appreciate it. I hope I didn't offend anybody with the double post but I didn't think that the Toyota guys would spend a lot of time in that sub forum and vice versa and I was hoping to get opinions from Toyota owners as well as samurai owners to be able to formulate an educated opinion on whether or not I should drop the cash for the Samurai

If the moderators would like to delete one or both threads then please do. My apologies

More capable? As in what? You say you're not rock-crawling, so more capable as a fireroad cruiser? No-brainer - IFS > SA.

Although the Sami is cool and I'd love to have one some day.

I've owned all of the above, stick with the Toyota. The Samurai is fun, but with the little 1.3 it's a serious pain in the *** to drive anywhere but back roads.

Share the same view as trackhead above.. Its fun to drive in the woods and on back roads, but on highways and open roads its quite wobly.
Bought a Samurai myself just a week ago.
