Can't say I know a whole lot about yota diffs in rovers, but Keith at rovertracks offers a kit to put them in. From the template to drill out your housing to the whole assy, to just a good word on how to do it. He is revor on the portal.

And no, I don't get anything for putting his name up. Just think he does quality work.

cheers

That is the guy I am going to for the kit... Just hoping to save a few $$$$ if possible!!!!

Thanks for the Great Info everyone!

FZJ80 HP diff with lockers...

I expect that this will be hard to find and rather pricey. If you have a rear locker, you most likely do not need the fron locker. If you really need the front locker, it is probably easier to go ARB.

If you can find a locked FZJ80 that is being parted out you could get the harness, HP diff with lockers, switches, etc. If it was me - I'd just buy the complete kit and save a lot of screwing around.

A guy in my local club is doing this to his Land Rover. He ended up going with a Lock Rite or something in the rear. He hasn't done the front yet. One thing that is crazy is the hi pinion 80 series fronts are spendy used, too many Rover guys and mini truck guys sucking them up. I sold an unlocked one for $450 a few years ago. It took less than 5 minutes for it to sell and I could have sold about a dozen more. Personally, having owned both elocked 80s and ARB'd 80 series Land Cruisers I'd go with the ARB. It is easier to find parts for and dealing with air and o-rings is easier than electronics. The 80 front isn't so bad, but the 80 rear can be a real PITA to get to engage due to the low spline count. Have you ever considered swapping a complete 80 series front axle in? To me that seems like a cheaper way to go. All these LR to LC specific axles etc... get expensive. Plus then you have access to cheap 6 bolt wheels.
