Trailer costs

Hope people dont find this a stupid question..

Im wondering how much people have spent building their DIY off road trailers?
Im trying to replace my current trailer, which is built from angle iron with something a bit beefier.

this is what im trying to replace. works great but is too short, and the back is starting to bend.

box rocket's build is very close to what id like, a 4x6 deck with about 1' sides and tail gate. mostly used to haul dirbikes(2) but also used as a utility and camping stuff trailer. metal sides would be nice, plywood deck is fine.

so adding up all the stuff i need gets me to enclosed trailer range. (ive been wanting to convert a enclosed trailer to a toy hauler/camper, but thats more money too.)

So what have people spent on their DIY trailers? im just trying to see what other people have spent on a basic ish trailer.

If you want a trailer like Box Rocket's, then only he can answer that for himself, but I can give you a quick ballpark rundown of what the materials would cost you according to what I paid to do mine (that is if it was like BR's trailer).

Axle kit $250.00
Metal framing 2.5 x 2.5 x .063 $100.00 - 1.5 x 1.5 x .063 $100.00
Sheet metal (skins) 16 gauge $200.00
Pre Fab Fenders $50.00
All Lights $100.00
Multi Axis Coupler (A Must!!) $250.00
Wiring $75.00
Wheels/Tires (Used Craig s List) $200.00
Paint $200.00

$1525.00 Total

I'm sure I missed a few things but here's your first answer for the day. Hope it helps :smiley_drive:

Ive got about $1700 (and a bajillion hours of time) into mine. The bulk of the cost was steel, and new tires and wheels.

just under 2 grand for the trailer including all mods , maybe closer to 1,800, the tent was cosiderably more,

Thanks guys! 1500 is about waht i was looking at but metal alone was 450, getting another quote tomorrow. i have tires, but want matching wheels to the tow rig (could live without) 3,500lb axle with brakes and springs is 250.
hopefully i can get something for the old trailer to help out a bit.

but im still on the fence about getting an enclosed trailer. kinda want one still, and they are about 1500 ish
