Just picked up another M416 to rebuild but I am confused by the trailer hubs. There seems to be an inner bearing race that serves no purpose. The spindle is straight (no taper) and the inner bearing sets against the axle but there is a thin curved race that sets above the bearing. This inner race is keeping me from removing the brake plate. I am not sure this is original but need some direction. Is this correct? If so, how do you remove the inner race to remove the brake plate? Any help is appreciated.
