Trailer lid weatherstripping

The self adhesive foam tape I'm currently using isn't holding up very well, keeps sliding off. What's everyone using and how's it holding up?

you'll want to use an automotive style bulb seal. i got mine directly from AT but i believe it can be sourced from Mcmaster Carr. the trick is to not have the lid crush the seal completely. the seal actually functions best when it is slightly compressed (the air gap isn't completely crushed). i believe they use the number 10 seal but not 100% sure.

Given the way your lid has a lip, something like a garage door seal might also work - see type 2 at McMaster. Just depends on whether you've got the ability to create the right gap (type 2 seal is 3/8" for example). Just a thought, and something I've considered if I ever build a lid...
