A while ago I sold my M101A2 that I had grand plans for but never finished. I've still had the itch for a camping trailer so when my wife and I saw this Manley trailer pop up on the local CL for a good price we grabbed it.
We bought it from the original owner and is in great condition save for the barrel hinges on the tailgate both being broken - I will need to cut them off and weld on two new ones.
We took it up camping the very next day and it was awesome. The combination of having a detachable base camp, not worrying about throwing wet/muddy gear in the 4Runner and providing more room in the back for our puppy makes the Manley a winner all around. Kudos to the folks over at Manley, the trailer seems extremely well built and is hardly noticeable behind the 4Runner. I will say the only downside (jokingly) is being stopped three times in one day by folks to ask about it. Curiously the question everyone asks is what's INSIDE the trailer.
Not sure what all of my future plans are for it. At a minimum we're going to add a locking bracket/container up front to hold gas/water/propane. Down the road maybe a hard lid to keep hunting/fishing gear secure. Unfortunately this would force us to either reconfigure the rack or have the RTT mounted on the lid itself. I might look at adding a locking safe/container inside instead. Inside is the biggest question - slide out kitchen vs removable chuck box vs nothing...who knows. Open to suggestions!
