Transmission compatibility

Just wondering if a 99' Series 1 Discovery's automatic transmission would have any problems going into a 89' Range Rover. All the info I got from the salvage yard was a bunch of numbers (1749934 & 1043010747). They couldn't tell me if it was a ZF 4HP22. I understand that it's tag should have 4HP22 "inked" into it but I'm not sure what inked is supposed to mean nor do the salvage guys.

It will fit, except that you need everything from the motor back to fit it as the flywheel/torque converter are different.

You need the front driveshaft off the DI and one of the mounts (forget which side). You also want to use the DI linkage as the 89 RRC has the BW transfer case which has a viscous coupler not diff lock so the linkage is only hi/low.
