While not exactly "portable" but here is my transportable HF/VHF/Digital station.
Antenna is a 123ft dipole using the military fiberglass mast. Case is a "musicians" 4U amp case.

Looks very high tech with the 4U case.

I've been meaning to build a portable set up for emergency communications.

Nice Gary!

I really like it. Those cases are not real heavy but can protect everything inside nicely. I'm guessing that you would use an external power supply? Is there any room inside for a battery?
How about some pics of the back?

Now I wonder if Dave (Adventure Duo) is still selling his SKB case?

The power supply is internal. Its a 36amp supply out of a HP server. Nice and small. I looked at batteries but it would just be to heavy. Right now with just the PS, radio and tuner its heavy enough. I have a second shelf on order will use it to hold an SWR meter and speaker. May move the power supply up as well. Here is the back of the unit

Very cool Gary! A very clean setup you have. What kind of contact have you made with it thus far?

This weekend was a European digital contest, I worked a number of stations in Europe and the Ukraine. I work into the Caribbean and South America. Also worked a number of state side and several Canadian Providences as well.

I will have the station active this weekend Sept 12th from our local state park as part of the Ohio State Park On the Air contest http://parks.portcars.org/ospota/index.php

Will be active on 80/40/20 SSB and 20m/30m digital.. Will be using our ARES club call W8NL. Look for us.

Me and my son pulled the antennas down and mast guys, antenna, coax all fits in a waterproof duffel bag. All ready for next weekend.

Very slick set-up Gary. I'm trying to piece one together myself......later.
This weekend I'm putting up a vertical for a friend, and I'll be playing radio a bit. Which park will you be working from? I'll keep an ear out for the Ohio stations involved. I'll probably only have 20m wire up until the vertical is finished on Sunday. Let me know.
