Travel through Albania, Turkey, Central Asia

I am looking for info on overland travel through Albania, Macedonia, Turkey, Georgia, Azerbaijan, Armenia. I am headed that way in Feb with my family of five in our International 7500 4X6 Motorhome Shachagra.

I wish I had heard of this site while I was building the truck!

Sounds fun. I have been to all of those countries. I know of some cool places you could see, eat. :smiley_drive:

Welcome to ExPo, Shachagra! It would be great if you would share a few words of wisdom about the process of building your home on wheels. And what has been the biggest surprise or lesson learned about traveling with your family for an extended period?

Here's the shachagra build process in time lapse photography

Thanks for the welcome

We are 4 months into our trip, having shipped the truck over in Sept, traveled England, Scotland, France and we are now in Italy.
First advice- fold your mirrors when you ship a truck. I was charged about $600 more because of them! Small thing.

I couldn't find an RV or builder to meet our needs and loved the Americat RV on the International 7400. I don't need to go places the others on this site go- but I wanted to be able to travel unimproved roads, the 7500 was a great truck.

I would recommend setting a schedule and sticking to it, regardless of progress. I just finished the trim work this morning, 4 months after we left. If I had waited till I was done I'd still be in Painesville.

Family loves the trip and the adventure. I am looking for advice on anyone who has driven through to Georgia.

Bath

The bath recirculates, filters and reheats the water so we use less of it. We carry 400 gallons, but with 5 that would go quick with long showers. Quick clean and into the tub. Diesel boiler heats water heater and coils through water heater heat tub.

Captian,
It was good to meet you Friday. Thanks for the tour of your home. I love the layout, especially the kids rooms. Great way to make the most out a space. Glad to see you made it here and hope you start a build thread on that truck. Can't wait to read about your adventures on this trip. I have to admit the first time I saw your truck I thought it was a commercial built rig. Very nice work.

Best of luck,

Jim and Pati

Nice Tip, Nice site

Thanks for the tip, this is a really good site to see that there are others in the world doing the same kind of "crazy stuff"

Most of the rigs on this site could drive up and over ours, very off-road oriented. Best of luck to you and the wife.
