Hey Folks,

Don't post much in here, but thought I'd share my new rig.

Picked up a 2000 Xterra SE this weekend for a steal. Don't really know a ton about it yet. New baby in the house so time is limited with the new toy right now.

It has Shrockworks front and rear bumpers, sliders, Mile Marker winch (no remote, hope it works), body lift, at least some shackles and torsion bars as well. Sitting on 32's and looks to have an ARB rear locker - has the compressor under the hood, but haven't even played with it yet.

It's more than I need, so I'll be focusing on baselining fluids, maintenance, safety and getting all the mods back in working order.

Has 150,000 miles and a ticking noise above 2700 RPMs. Runs strong, fires right up, passed CO emissions and rides okay.

I'll post some more pics over the coming days and shoot some questions your way!

Cheers

Nice looking rig. I don't know a ton about the Gen1 XTerras, but there are XTerra specific forums that might be helpful with some of the technical details.

Thanks all.

JIMBO, thanks for pointing me towards that forum ... the support out there for my previous Jeeps and FJ were AMAZING, as is the support for my BMW, but I hadn't seen anything too impressive for the X yet. I'll check that out for sure.

Cheers.

XterraNation, Ronin, SCCX and Rugged Rocks are other communities you can check out. Ronin especially since you're Front Range local ... SCCX & Rugged Rocks are both more Southern California oriented; but there are some good tech folks on both. The Nissan community may be (much) smaller than the Jeep & Toy worlds, but we're tightly knit.

Good looking first gen!

Had some time today, so transferred our Rola Roof Basket from the wife's Element over to the X. Gave it a fresh coat of paint too (the rack).

Lerch, the winch didn't come with a remote, that's on my list of items to buy & figure out!

Picked the X up after some work being done, started getting it baselined on maintenance:

Timing Belt, H2O Pump, Tensioner (replacement was unknown when I bought it)
Valve Cover Gaskets, Plenum Gasket (driver side VCG had a BAD leak)
F/R Diff Fluid
Fuel Pressure Regulator
Replaced a couple of stripped wheel studs

Glad to have the peace of mind on these repairs, but will have to call the shop back as I now have a Check Engine Light that wasn't there before.

Also picked up a remote for the winch - it turns, but is so tightly jammed inside the bumper it won't turn much. Planning to switch to synthetic rope in the spring, which should solve that problem.

Found a key fob (didn't come with one) on Amazon for $14 that will get programmed this weekend.

Replacing cabin air filters this weekend as well.

Next steps will be getting the ARB compressor up and running, testing the lockers, and some Seafoam in the intake.

Cheers!
