Trekboxx?...

94Discovery... I know the price is crazy but system just makes sense to me as you can get the basic package and add what you need. If only I could find a fabricator/builder that could do something similar :)
DiscoDavis... I looked at AT and other than different materials its the same as most other storage solutions. I like the Trekboxx since he incorporates a barrier into the design and everything is modular to your needs.

Just my opinion, but I did the review search on many of those kits and also followed the one here on the Portal on all of the various truck and SUV boxes. Once I started to see the prices go above $2K, I stopped looking as that is ridiculous.

On a serious note, if you look at industrial equipement such as tool boxes, etc., you can find aluminum boxes which are much lighter and will fit in the back if you need that type of set up. Fridge slide neck to it if that is the desire. Also, many trailer supply companies have cabinet kits that are modular for fit just like you would do on a kitchen design. Measure the cabinets and they have small drawer and shelved cabinets in all kinds of sizes designed for the road. My Pace trailer had custom cabinets installed for $1500 and they looked better than my house on quality.

I hope nobody spends that kind of money for a kit that would not fit in another vehicle without major modification. Half the cost of the vehicle if you drive a nicely equiped factory 2008 LR3 SE like me...hahaha by nicely equiped I mean bone stock with some outside toys.

Don't get me wrong, those setups are absolutely beautiful and high quality, the cost to me just hurts when I see someone buying a mass produced box for that kind of money. These suppliers need to come down on prices and sell more for less and make a killing.

Seriously, find yourself a nice cabinet maker in the neighborhood and give them dimensions and wood type you want to use. Ask for larger gaps because you plan to lineX it and want them to open. Save $500 and skip the LineX spray and go with a sealant finish or roll on truck liner.

I would be willing to bet you can find someone with some serious carpentry skills that could make that thing to your exact spec and probably with some other bells and whistles for less than $2k after coating of choice.

I definitely agree that these systems are crazy expensive! I'm going to start looking around the PHX area for a builder. I know guys back home on Oahu but... we moved :/

I'll take those Oahu builder names! lol

Again, nothing against these systems as they are nicely built and with great thought behind them. I just do not believe they are priced for the general market!
