Trekker trailer chassis for a basis to a nice overland box

Hi! I'm quite a novice so I might be asking a really silly question. I have a engineers background and like to think I have some creative insight though :) so a honest question out of the box-wagen this is!

Looking for a chassis to start a overland camper build and tinyhome on big wheels I notice that there are far more and better priced 4x4 trekker chassis available. Originally used to haul a large trailer, equipped with a good engine and often a strong auto gearbox, 4x4, large tanks and some luxury like a sleepercab. Yet they have a large/strong/long enough chassis to place a small box of say 10-13 feet, 3-4 metre.

I'm thinking remove the dish, suspension works, larger wheels in some cases. Easy subframe due to the rigid truckframe and good! Why is this not done more often? are there regularity's, chassis considerations, issues that I dont see?
