Hi everyone,

We just got back from 2400km round trip to the Kalahari desert, where we spent a week on a private game reserve of approximately 1400 sq km.

Here's a teaser, will put up some wildlife photos and videos once I've sorted through the thousands of photos we took.

Pics taken along the N14, one of the straightest, most desolate roads in ZA

Here's a video of the rains, thunderstorms, and duststorms while we were there:

Heads up: we are going back to Tswalu Kalahari next week to see some of the more elusive animals - pangolin, aardvark, aardwolf, etc.

so brace yourselves for some photos ;)

The Kalahari is one of the most magical places on earth. We’ve been twice and haven’t begin to unlock it’s mysteries…

Those are some great pictures! Any close calls or were y'all a good ways from most of the wildlife?

Nah, the wildlife is pretty habituated with the vehicles, so no danger whatsoever as long as you don't stand up or leave the vehicle.

The cheetahs are even more chilled, so you can walk with them at +-20m distance.

Everything else is too scared of humans. Even lions will rather avoid you, unless you stray within their comfort zone, especially when they have newborn cubs. But they will let you know about it by growling, and then you must retreat.
