Finished up the basics. Going to drive it for a week and then check all the fittings before starting to install the bumpers, steps, winches etc. Should be able to have it all complete for when the Turtleback trailer show up next month.

super clean build! I have 2 questions how come your willing to give up so much bed space for the spare tire? Ive been seeing this a lot with gladiators and tacomas
being in the crusty state of New Hampshire like myself are you going to undercoat it with fluid film or something like that?
im painting my frame/axles with rust shield then doing cavity wax in the frame and sills/door panels but I’m on the fence about coating everything at the moment.

Thank you. The nice thing is I am really not giving up the bed. The tire flips up exposing the full bed if you need it. As far as the underside, I will most likely not run it during salt season. I used to buy a used truck for dec-march every year and then sell it. Now I have other vehicles I can use. The salt is what Kills them up here.

Nice build! I understand the concept completely, being a south GA boy I built up the Rubicon in my avatar specifically for trout safaris out west. I am an avid fly fisherman but being in the deep south I am mainly a saltwater fly fisherman and spend a lot of time chasing bones, permit and tarpon (Ironically it is cheaper for me to fish in Belize or Mexico using sky miles than it is for me driving and camping out west ) but I love my trout since that is what my long gone Uncle taught me to fly fish on. I considered a rod holder along the lines of that one, but when I blue line fish I use old split bamboo rods and keep them very protected on the trails packed tight in a Pelican Case. I am assuming by where you stated you wanted to get to to fish you were going to be blue lining it. Those western blue line streams can be insanely full of pretty little cutthroats, good luck and tight lines on all your upcoming adventures!

Love the build, well done! I am surprised, given what you spent on suspension, that you didn't go bigger on the tires. I guess the beauty is that you still can very easily with that particular kit should you want to down the road.

I am seriously kicking around the idea of a JT build here soon.
