Truck Bed GASOLINE tank Options?

Good morning, I have been looking for a way to extend my 2011 Dodge 2500's gasoline fuel range, w/o the use of jerry cans.

There are companies that make them, but they seem limited to Diesel only. Just wanted to see if there where any other options out there?

I am not so sure it doesn't have something to do with emissions and the flammability issue. There are ways though.
I use a marine fuel tank in the bed tool box on my last truck. (Marine tanks are thicker and have UV inhibitors)

Fuel level on the cap and I added one for another fuel gage in the cab. Auxilary Fuel Tank This was tee'd into the emissions and main tank. It is a transfer tank to fill the main tank. I still have that tank in my garage. It connects with marine quick fuel connectors. Do a little looking at marine fuel tanks. There are many sizes and shapes available. The below deck tanks will need shielding as they do not have UV inhibitors.
After that and in addition to it I added OEM style steel tanks under the back where the spare tire had been. In the end , I think this is the best choice.
18-20 gallons is the sweet spot for me. That much extra adds enough range without the burden of too much payload loss. Keeps the weight low and having the fill caps in the same place is convenient.

Now I'm not recommending this, but I have seen many people use gas in aftermarket diesel tanks. There are many reasons not to do this, but the main reasons these aftermarket tanks are not sold to be used for gasoline is due to emissions. Gas is more volatile and can force explosive vapors out vents, so the vents must be routed properly and compartments vented to avoid this.

A second tank mounted under the truck is always an option. But the way so many mount 5 gallon gas cans all over their vehicles, a bed mounted diesel tanks does not sound that bad to me. But all my vehicles are diesel...

What could go wrong?
I removed the in cab tank from my 72 F250 and installed a 50 gallon tank/toolbox combo from Northern Tool in the bed.
It was my only fuel tank. It was a diesel tank but I had no issues running gasoline in it.
Even after a rollover where the filler cap was at the bottom for 30 minutes, no fuel leaked out.

I am also interested in this as I just purchased a 2012 Dodge Ram and would prefer not to use jerry cans if all possible for a 3 week trip in May.

I've been thinking about doing two Rotomax 4 gallon cans mounted to the front of the bed of my truck. They're still pretty much jerry cans but they seem like they would less cumbersome to have in the cargo area.
