Tundra tonneau cover camping set up

I wanted a DC 2006 limited for a long time and a few days a go a friend call, "I know you want a Tundra, I'll sell you mine" too much money later, since it was a mall queen with only 98k miles and all maintenance up to date, even timing belt I could not pass it.

First thing I wanted to do is make a weekend camping set up using the bed hardcover, I should take out the running board first but it's Salmon fishing season here in the PNW.

Here is the picture of the first template. IMG_3057.JPG

and first cut IMG_3068.JPG

I'll continue to post more progress and detail

I designed something similar a few years back and decided that your best bet is to use Velcro for attaching it to the lid and the sides, you can buy both stick-on and sew on versions to accommodate attaching to hard and soft surfaces, make sure you have the fabric attach to the inside lip on the lid and outside the bed rail or you will end up with water where you really don't want it. Good luck with the project.

Thanks, that is the project for tonight, Just as you described, I'll be sewing velcro to the fabric and gorilla glue to the lid, after I remove 1 1/2 in of the existing felt so glue/velcro is directly to the fiberglass.

A picture of the final product, so far three nights of camping, it has worked great, way better that my other truck canopy and platform. And the fishing was even better.IMG_3139.jpg IMG_3147.jpg
