For Sale Sweet Tacoma Build for $26,000 Canadian
We escaped BC Winter to Baja. We liked it so much we've built up a bigger vehicle for longer escapes, and we need to sell our sweet Taco. Being in the RTT up high with two skylights is like being in a treefort looking up at the stars. Magic.
2007 Toyota Tacoma SR5 V6 Double Cab SB 4WD, six speed manual transmission, 180 000km, excellent mechanical condition, no accidents, cruise control, engine redone by dealership about a year ago, new (subject of recall) rear springs, chassis anti-corrosion by Toyota, LED interior lights, upgraded PIAA headlights, K&N air filter. Bridgestone AT KO Tires, good tread. Spare serpentine belt. Could use upgraded shocks.
BC Canada registration. It is presently in the Gulf Islands but we could bring it to Victoria and will bring it to Lower Mainland for a serious buyer. We have been using the truck so we would need a few days to reassemble it as pictured.
Canopy is all aluminum with integral roof rack, very lightweight (50 lb.?) but will hold several hundred pounds. The top is NOT clear as shown - that was just for visibility - but there is a roof vent which is smoke grey.
Attached is the Sketchup of the build as we planned it. You can look at it in 3 D if you use Sketchup - it's in the 3D warehouse as Overlander Toyota build with Tepui roof top tent, annex, awning, kitchen with water on tap.
Tent and awning are not to scale with truck!
Build includes:
-Tepui Ayer Sky (tan) tent with annex - fits on roof of canopy. Needs one Rainfly rod, available from Tepui. We lost one but never actually used all 8. Now we have a brake line, sorta works.
-outdoor kitchen on super heavy duty slide out drawer - extends four feet, and locks in closed and fully extended positions. Weight rating 400 lb
⁃ Primus Propane stove
⁃ Mobicool 12 -volt/ 110 volt fridge. This picture shows a cooler but we would sell it with the fridge
⁃ water on tap at tailgate (manual Whale pump; 65 litre/ 16 gallon tank sits between wheel humps in bed)
-lightweight shelving built into passenger side of canopy
-hallway for access to storage with LED puck lights on ceiling -Camp Chef portable kitchen (orange box in picture) with aluminum frame, roll-up aluminum top, fabric box and four fabric drawers.
-Reliance Hassock Toilet -which can be used on the road inside canopy if hallway is clear or in annex at campground
-ARB 8 foot awning
Attached are pictures of the truck on our way down Baja California to San Jose del Cabo last winter

Future upgrades:
If we had kept this setup, we would have done the following upgrades:
- Run power into the canopy for fridge
- Upgraded suspension (although this truck is nimble and off-road capable as is)
- Cut access ports on both sides of canopy so that propane can be turned on from outside and so that water tank can be filled from outside
We are not including the propane tank, water or gas cans, nor the chairs and table (seen as bundles in the back driver's side), but they all fitted in.
If you take it to Baja, say hello at Coco's Corner, it's an experience!
