Gentleman, im back. Some of you may recognize me from a year ago plus, while i was shopping for a Montero. well, February 2011, after a very long search, I flew to San Antonio from Denver to buy a 94 SR, white with blueish grey trim. the price was quite a bit higher than i wanted at $3300, but the history and seller made it work for me.
after i arrive in San Antonio and meet with the seller, everything kind of changes. super clean outside, check. super clean inside, check. clean under the hood, check. 3.5 v6, check. leather, nope. sun roof, nope. shock switch, nope. locker, nope. SR flares, check. it had 50% 31 bfg at's in front, and 20% in rear.
CRAP! i wanted an SR for the LOCKER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! the rest is neat, but the locker and twin cam 3.5 were the critical. and now i am in Texas, with no return flight. So i pulled the trigger. 200 miles into the drive home, the power steering pump starts leaking. one that was replaced less than a year ago. Super! after that, the rest of the trip was a great drive. went through Albequerque to see my Son, and came up through Durango, which is a part of CO i had not seen yet. In Silverton, Ouray, and surrounding area's, i came into a major storm system and climbed all mountain passes in blizzards. even with the bald tires in the rear, it never spun a tire. Love this thing! MPG's range from 15.7 to 21.2 throughout the trip, varying with a/c on or off, hills, Gasoline quality.
All in all, i love it. some plus's to the arrangement of options are that i hate leather. I love the air suspension on the driver seat! I dont care for sunroofs. it seems the shock thing will just make me love it until i have to change shocks and dont pony up the dough. so good there. and it cant be that hard to swap the rear for a locked axle! right!

Well, lets fast forward to May 1, 2011. and this! http://www.expeditionportal.com/forum/threads/60769-The-big-suck!?highlight=

shortly after this, i ended up having a lot of title issues. and it all just added up to me HATING this damn truck! but, i figured i would just deal with it. removed the rear bumper, put a tarp on the back for the broken window. put my new 33-10.5-15 KM2's on, and continued to daily drive it. i ended up removing the side steps, and taking it on a trip to Wheeler Lake. and it was quite the experience! ive only ever wheeled solid axle trucks. so i had to learn the way of the IFS, without the locker. it was fun, sorry no pics. from that trip in june, to today i have only used it for daily needs. i have neglected the poor thing, allowing the back to get greasy from car parts. ive been a bad Daddy!
