Ultimate Camping Pan, 12" Carbon Steel Wok!

This is my new camping pan. I use a wok all the time, but a normal 14" wok is heavy, too large to camp, etc. But this 12" one with a wide 8" flat bottom is perfect!

I have 10 or so $120 All-Clad non-sticks, quality pans of all sorts, and this 12" wok is by far the best for camping.

This 12" Wok by Joyce Chen was highly rated by several tests for best Wok, as well as best Carbon Steel Pan. It is a great size for one-hand use, smaller and lighter than a normal 14" wok.

At just $24, this in a great pan, destined to be my #1 Camping pan! Easy to clean, useful for frying, stir fry, soup, stew, boiling. Light, large, stands up to metal utensils and harsh use, and can be re-made non-stick in a couple minutes at camp. I've tested it for boiling, fried eggs, bacon, steak, all worked well and easy to clean.

Here is a quick video I made showing how to season it to non-stick in a few minutes, and frying some eggs, bacon etc.

I don't have video using itnon my Coleman stoves yet, or hanging in my truck camper, will do soon. Highly recommend!

Thanks for the write up. Isn't it great when you can find something fairly inexpensive the punches way above its weight class ? I know I sure do, lol. Makes you feel like you found a cheat code ! Lol

I also really like the 17" Lodge dual handle skillet. You can cook a little bit or a gigantic amount of food. Or it will cook 10 burgers at once. And I have the mini wok & lid from Lodge. Works great when you have 1 or 2 people.

Some of the new Weber grills at H D actually have a special ring, that your wok would fit right into.
