Ultimate Expedition Waterproof Fuse / Relay Box -- Bussman

This is the best central electrical setup I've seen out there and it took me years to find a setup of this quality and also in this compact a size. Can be used for bikes or motorcycles. It is completely water, dust, and vibration proof and the individual components (relays) are also water proof so it is nearly indestructible.

Price Dropped: $200 for the complete unit with mounting brackets, $170 for the complete box missing the mounting brackets...

These came from Waytek which is a large mail-order electrical supply house. The hardest/most difficult issue with dealing with Waytek is the time to make sure everything is there and that you meet the minimums.

- You hook up a single large gauge wire between battery and the fuse box
- There are up to 5 35-amp 5-pole relay ports, all 5 relays are included
- Ten (10) spots for Buss "mini fuses" available at any gas station or parts store
- Fuses and relays can be used together or completely separately

See photos / let me know if you have any questions at all. The mounting bracket are the zinc coated brackets seen in the photo that lifts the box up a couple inches.

Thanks

You wire a fat wire to the port seen here in the bottom left. This provides a permanent "hot" to the bank of 10 fuses. From the fuses you can either then route the wire to the relay spots on the right, or direct to anything you wish to be relay-protected. Bottom left are the metal brackets that you crimp to each wire that then snap into place in the Bussman fuse box.

These are the rubber gommets that the wires are slid through to make a water proof connection. The green grommets also serve as plugs for unused ports.

I am curious why you are asking such a high price for this?
Waytek has the fuse box for $27. Is it the connectors that make it such a high total cost?

I actually got a couple PM's about this today and I really appreciate it. I have looked but I remembered spending something like $450 on these but I'll be goiog back through the receipts and wil figure it out... (It was a couple of years ago when I bought these)... Also they are component by component also I think waytek charges just $27 for the box alone and not all the pieces together, no relays, plugs, clips etc.. Someone forwarded me a thread where final cost was closer to $100 for the complete setup, and if that's the case then I definitely made a mistake and that's what I'll sell it for! So let me look into it a little further and sorry about that guys!

If you end up adjusting the price and it comes with all the bells and whistles please pm me. I wanted this setup but the guy on I hate mud stopped selling them and while I could put a kit together myself, figuring out the part numbers for all the little plugs etc seemed daunting as I don't even know where to start.

Obviously you guys haven't dealt with Waytek, nor are you taking Andre's labor into account. I was out of work last year while my ankle was reconstructed. I spent a lot of time researching the required parts needed (Including calls to the manufacturer) to build a few of these. I thought it would be a great therapeutic project while I rehabbed.

I placed my order and waited. Once my box of supplies arrived, I dove into the project with the kind of excitement that can only come from months of being house bound. I was bummed to discover that not only did I get the wrong fuse/relay blocks, but they sent micro relays that didn't even fit the blocks.

After a few unsuccessful phone calls to exchange the unused/incorrect items, I finally drafted and sent a letter to them detailing the desire to exchange the incorrect parts. It went unanswered. I ate a couple hundred dollars and still have unused, incorrect parts.

Thx jereme, as always! It's true, it's a nightmare figuring these out. Anyway, 1 is sold and ill be keeping the other (just not worth it to sell). Thanks!
