Ultimate Roof Rack?

I purchased a Gobi Rack for my JKUR a couple months ago. It's made me think about what could possibly make this rack even better. Yakima/Thule mount integration, adjustable tie down points, weight decrease(it's heavy lol), multiple light mounts are the things that come to mind.

What do you guys think, what would you like to have?

I too purchased the MBRP rack and installed it a few weeks ago. The 2" tubing this rack is made of forces one to be creative. Great rack once you figure out how to mount accessories on it (e.g. a roof top tent; see attached final product).

I've been looking for easy to install/remove mounting brackets for this rack and found what I was looking for at a local stage lighting/rigging supplier here in Vancouver, BC (see attached photo). The brackets are black powder coated aluminum with galvinized steel hardware; each with a rated capacity of 150 kg (330 lb) stamped on the body and are able to mount around the 2" tubing of this rack. Overkill for my intended purpose of mounting an awning to my vehicle, but at $12.95 a pop, it saves me from running around fruitlessly looking for expensive or unavailable brackets.

Front Runner has just released a new JK-specific rack system called the Extreme. We're in the middle of installing one on our shop Jeep, and thus far I have been VERY VERY impressed. It mounts to the roll cage in 4 places and then mounts to the A-pillars on the Jeep. High weight rating (660 pounds), but the entire rack itself weighs less than 100 pounds. I'll get some pics up once we finish the install. Theres a video on youtube of them using the rack to lift a Jeep with a crane, they take it about 6 feet off the ground, pretty sweet to watch.

Neither even compares to the Gobi for those that like to go topless. After all, isn't that one of the best things about owning a Jeep?

Sure thing. The local supplier here in Vancouver is Eurotek Marketing. Here's the direct product page link:

http://eurotekmarketing.com/catalog/index.php/clamps-c-23?osCsid=d4b0397e5db44df6ebf2da9d6e117ebb

I believe these guys ship domestic and to the States. Not sure about international shipping though.

After poking around on Amazon, eBay and Google Eurotek's prices are hard to beat.

Enjoy! I'll be sure to post some photos of these clamps after I mount my awning.

I am looking to buy the Cheeseborough style clamps (see image below) for mounting interior accessories to my roll cage.
