Hello,
I am looking for a Unimog 1300L 1979-1980 Unimog Camper conversion. What price range should I be looking at? What concerns should I have?

Thanks!

The price range part of your question is tricky, a bit like "how long is a piece of string". It depends on the camper body, how it's made, how good it is, how well kitted out it is. Prices will probably range between $25,000 and $200,000 "depending". take a long search on www.mobile.de to see some prices of all sorts of conversions (and not converted yet).

Concerns - not sure what you mean? That specific model year? camper conversions?.... Take a read through the unimog section on the benzworld forums, you'll learn more than you ever wanted to know about unimogs! :)

I've been living in a 1986 U1300L camper for almost 2 years, not too concerned about any of it. It just works. When something breaks, or needs servicing, I figure out how to get it sorted. and have never failed to get it sorted. not too concerning.

what are you specifically interested in?

As Merv says, there's a vast range of Mog campers, some very basic and some very sophisticated. In addition to Benzworld, also keep an eye on the Unimog Exchange, http://unimog.net/exchange.

Remember that you'll need a more-than-25-years-old model to import it into the United States, and people who live in a state with more-than-Federal emissions requirements (e.g., California) need to check carefully to make sure they won't have trouble with state registration. (I didn't have any problem with my 416 Mog in Oregon.)

I see that Expedition Imports has a U1300 with ambulance body ready to import for $36K. An ambulance body makes a pretty cramped camper, but it is a roof over your head:
