Ladies and Gents,

Question for the floor.

Background,
found a fairly solid Unimog 6x6 for sale at a "reasonable" price down the road. Since it was a bit of a unique find I thought it might make a good overland project (currently in the thoughts of starting one, like the way first thoughts....). However been searching the web to see how people have done it and come up with very little info. I do understand that not that many has been made through the years, but thought there would be more out there.....only 2 different vehicles keeps on coming up.

Question,
So do you think it would it be a good vehicle to turn in to an overlander?

Thank you for sharing your thoughts.

Overland where?
Too big and wide for many tracks in Oz. Wide track vehicles have a reputation for much more tyre problems because they pick up stakes outside those kept clear by the Landcruisers.

The OKA cab is 1.9M wide.
Simpson Desert short video clip.

Great Victoria Desert.

Mogs are killer. But I think it heavily depends on your location and where you plan to go/do. I constantly go back and forth between wanting to complete my F350 build, or put that cash into the trusty TJ instead.... Maybe consider what you actually will do rather than what you 'want' to do.

Is it a U2450L/38?

What year?

Pics?

Price?

Rust?

GVWR?

Right or left hand drive?

I was looking for one for years, but ended up going another way.

The 6x6 are BIG! I worked on a couple of them. If you think that's the vehicle you want/need, go for it.
