I recently posted here about the new fully reclining seats being optioned for the F-150’s, designed to allow more comfortable truck naps, and just found in a follow up that FORD may have plans for adding some other, some fancy tech upgrades soon.
One patent FORD has previously applied for, to enhance driver and passenger comfort (?), is a “wet seat detection and mitigation system”! I’m not sure what the benefits touted are for that, unless you make a point of being a frequent taxi driver for your elderly incontinent grandparents. ??♂️
But another ’recent’ patent pending is for this:
“Ford Motor Company has filed a patent for an enhanced in-cabin sleep experience system…This particular Ford patent presents us with a system that would theoretically be capable of determining whether or not a person in the vehicle is sleeping by using cameras or other devices such as sensors, and can also inform other occupants if that is indeed the case and even adjust things like the cabin temperature and audio volume, or wake them up before they reach their destination, if so desired.”
