usb cable for an etrex legend?

Does anyone make a USB cable to replace the serial cable that comes with the legends?

Thanks, but what I'm finding is the legend is only delivered with the serial cable, I'm wondering if the cable for the higher models would work? Garmin tech support has been a huge hassle.

Any mini USB cable should work fine. The same kind that you use to attach a camera or cell phone via USB. The majority of them are interchangeable. As long as you have the required Etrex drivers loaded on your PC, you should be good to go.

I beleive the newere Etrex units actually use a USB connection (3.0??) at the GPS, but if you have the standard B&W Etrex, it used the custom connector that I beleive is only available in a serial port. I have the same setup and have never found one available. One could probably modify the cord? I'm going to upgrade to the new Etrex units soon..

Al, I've been down this road before. A Keyspan serial-to-USB adapter solved the problem.
Thanks, I grabbed a serial/usb cable from work. I hooked it up, booted, no driver present, so I tried to go on line to find a driver and the lap top won't connect:( I think the com ports got wacked when i rebooted with this cable. I love computers:)
