Using a lower amp alternator in 2.5 Montero

So the alternator I got from the junkyard isn't quite right (bought online) it's for a Sport 3.0/3.5 and montero 3.0, the only real difference I think is the amperage, 85 compared to my 2.5 Montys 100. Would it still work in just daily use? Cause I just need a alternator that works. I don't have any accessories on the car btw all stock.

Would likely be fine. Condition at this point more important than the original rating 20 years ago

It would work to drive the truck, but I’d bet you’ll have problems when driving at night, running wipers, fan and defrost, radio, etc.....
