I finally have a moment to post some pictures of the 10 days my wife and I and spent in S. Utah. We left on April 22nd and made our way south to the San rafael swell area near Hanksville. We camped and explored some slot canyons then drove on to Fruita. From Fruita we headed south through Capitol reef NP to the Tantalus/Pleasant creek road and spent a very chilly night near the reservoir. We kept headed south on the Burr trail to Halls crossing. We spent a few days around Cedar mesa and Comb ridge before heading back north to meet my mother and her biking friends to do the White Rim Trail on mt. bikes, we rode a little bit but mostly drove our truck with all the gear and water. We had a great time and wish we had another 10 days to explore! Besides one bike rack failure the truck ticked off the miles with no issues.

Nice photos. I'm heading down there with my two young sons (10 and 12) in early June. As close as we live, they've never seen that country.

So you got to ride the ferry at Halls Crossing? When I was in that area on April 15, it wasn't running and there was a reader board on Hwy 95 near Natural Bridges NM, stating 'Ferry Closed'. I was told by rangers at Natural Bridges that they weren't sure when it would resume/re-open....

I didn't see that reader board though when I was in the area again last week. Hope the owner/operator has it all worked out for now.

Yeah my wife real got a kick out of it! We actually missed the last one the day before so just camped nearby and got on the morning one. Probably best to call the day before to find out the schedule if your trip depends on it. (435) 684-3088 is the NPS number to call.
