SOLD Van Compass rear add a leaf spring pack, 4x4 Sprinter 2500.

Used for a couple of months and replaced with full new custom spring pack because I was exceeding GVWR with tongue weight of trailer.

From the Van Compass website: As a vehicle approaches its GVWR (Gross Vehicle Weight Rating), the rear suspension will naturally begin to sag and ride quality will begin to suffer. The Sprinter van is no different. This multi leaf spring pack installs under the factory leaf springs and can increase ride height from 1" to 1.3" (25mm to 33mm) depending on the vehicle's weight distribution. The increase in spring rate gained by this leaf pack along with the additional clearance between the bumpstop and axle will reduce the chances of bottoming out, enhance vehicle stability, ride comfort and restore the factory look of the van. This product is designed to improve ride and handling while at or near GVWR, however we do not recommend exceeding the manufacturer's GVWR.

Why did you switch from these to custom? Did you not like them? I am very interested as I'll have a 2500 that's near gvwr when done.

I decided I wanted to use the van (fully built out 4x4 Sportsmobile) to also tow motorcycle trailer. Extra weight required bigger springs. Van Compass parts are great but I was exceeding GVW pretty significantly and needed to upgrade. Up to (and over GVW by about a few hundred pounds) these worked great. Improved ride, stability and gave a small lift.

What is your gvwr? I'll likely be close to 9000 full of fluids and with a passenger.

I was up to 9600 lbs. loaded and the springs were fine. It was the additional hitch weight that caused me to go to another set of springs.

I have had some requests for photos of actual parts (not just Van Compass shots). In excellent condition; no rust or any damage , only minor abrasions where helper springs contacted stock springs.
