Hi Gang,

Not sure where to post this...

I'm working on my hot water system for the XJ, tryin' to do some preliminary calculations. The only bit of information I'm lacking is the flow rate of the cooling system on the Jeep.

Can someone give me a ball park number?

Many Thanks...

at idle probably 5gal a min...maybe 10...

but...what are you going to do about the coolant? you know it doesnt just KEEP it from freezing..it also helps it to not boil at 212*...

you can get a plate exchanger...small one...like this..

http://cgi.ebay.com/UL-Certified-16...emQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item4a9be6bd7b

it'll give you a 30* change at their temp reading..55* water (tap cold in ohio)..to 85* at 3.5gpm...maybe even hotter at enging temps of 210-230,,just increase the flow rate...

just plumb it into your heater line on the jeep..leaving it run without fluid on the exchange side wont hurt it...

I plan on using a agricultural sprayer...probably this one (can get cheaper at tractor supply store/quality farm n fleet)

the 60psi is standard domestic house pressure...

add a sprayer from a kitchen faucet...and yer set!!

Thanks for the input!

I've got a nice Sureflow pump and I've sourced a good flat plate heat exchanger.

What I really need to know is the flow rate of the closed XJ cooling system so that I get the proper exchanger.
There is a 100% difference between 5 and 10 GPM...
