VentureCraft TrailBlazer Off-Road Camper Tent Trailer: $2500

Located in Portland.

Well, I never thought I would sell this, but I cannot justify keeping it any longer knowing that I use it only 1 or 2 times per year, and that I could use the money to actually fix things on my truck -- the one I drive every day.

There are several companies out there making trailers like this, but Venture Craft has gone out of business. Looking at several of the other trailers set up like this one is, I would guess the price to be around $4500-$5500 new.

It is a fiberglass body with a "bath tub" base for storage. You can access the storage from the exterior or the interior when the tent is up. I currently have almost all of my camping gear packed in there. The trailer has very good ground clearance, and it rides on a set of two steel wheels with BFG Trail T/A 245/75r16 tires that are virtually new.

The body is covered with a fiberglass hood. One could strap down light weight materials to the roof. I was also going to put fuel can holders up front. The empty trailer is light enough for almost any vehicle to pull -- yes, even your 3.9 Land Rover V8 will pull this trailer! But any Jeep, Toyota, Nissan, etc... would have no trouble at all. Off road it has lots of clearance, and I just weigh it down with my tools and heavy equipment, then air the tires way down.

It takes me just 3 minutes or so to put it up by myself. It sleeps two, has a matress, has a floor, and all the canvass is in good condition.

If there is anything "bad" about this trailer it is that it gets dirty when you are towing it off road, and the dust seeps in between the seals -- probably didn't do it as much when they were new. The paint is a bit faded, but otherwise, it is ready to go camping the moment you pick it up.

It is very cool. If I were to keep it I would want to modify it to hold jerry cans up front, or on the back. And I might have got ambitious and put some sort of drawer or fold out table in. The fiberglass sides can be drilled into. Also, it would be very easy to put a battery in so that you could have lights in the tent, etc.

Alright, I'm finally done with school and now I really want to try to sell this thing for real. I'll be home for the rest of the week and the weekend.
