I'm with Worker up there, she should have had more of an opportunity to display her talents. I think I'll get the Tredds. Thanks for the video and the idea.

Nice video. Thanks for sharing the idea.

Curious if anyone has looked at a DIY solution that would also allow for bridging as well? I've been thinking about reinforcing the lids on some of my storage containers so they serve double duty. They're about the same size as max trax anyways.

I'm sure many of you have seen the waffle boards used as traction mats and/or bridging aids. They are rigid enough to work ok. But something to consider with some of these DIY options like the waffle board or reinforced lids etc. is the weight. It's easy for these things to get pretty heavy after you make them strong enough to work as a bridging aid. Could be more problem that its worth at that point.
.
Nothing against DIY'ers but after having used the Maxtrax, and seeing them compared to a lot of other options, I'm sold 100% on them. Not cheap but they're well designed and they work for a variety of sticky situations. Worth the cost IMO.

to me the video sends an important message: it's not important what traction device you bring with you, it's all about a good shoveling..

The people who shot the video didn't get the traction aids set well to begin with. Also, with any of these types you should try to avoid wheelspin as much as possible.

Well I was also hoping for more of her than the intro and the cameo in the background of the Maxtrax test.

Maybe its just me but I never really considered a pair the appropriate amount. I'm partial to maxtrax for a number of reasons (you get what you pay for being the predominant) but as others have pointed out a little more digging would have gone a long way to getting it properly setup, not to mention having traction aids under front AND rear tires likely would have reduced the drama significantly.

I get that it was a "test" of traction devices but when you drive on the beach just lower your PSI and you won't need any of those things. The Maxtrax won IMO. Lol

For those who don't want to spend a couple of hundred $, it is a possible alternative to having something rather than nothing.
