Wagoneer will be body on frame

Jeep CEO Mike Manley says the new Jeep Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer will be built in the Warren, Michigan plant, alongside the RAM 1500 pickup. That means body on frame construction. The unibody Jeep Grand Cherokee will continue to be built at the Jefferson, Michigan manufacturing plant.

So the Wagoneer will be a truck, dressed up as a car. I expect independent front suspension and multi-link rear suspension, using coil springs and load-leveling airbags, just like today's RAM 1500. The stout frame will help the tow rating, too.

The Wagoneer will compete with Land Cruiser, Infiniti QX80 and Cadillac Escalade. Grand Wagoneer will target the $100K Range Rover.

Nice to see them back in the game!
A Grand Wagoneer is on my bucket list of vehicles to own. :)
I was thinking of a '90 to '91 with an LS conversion, but if the factory comes out with one built off the 1500 chassis that would sway me.

Well, get ready to shell out close to or over $100,000 for a 2021 or 2022 grand wagoneer. Lol.
