I'm looking for some pictures of a Jeep Unlimited with a 37" tire or larger but 14.50 width. If you have this set up and are able to tell me your rim width too that would be great.

Thanks

Not quite 14.5" tires..but maybe close enough?

Not 14.5" but these are 37x13.5R17's on a 2011 JKU.

I'm actually considering going to a tall skinny tire. I'm running "tall skinny" on the Taco and like them better. Also hoping to increase the gas mileage and range on the Jeep with the change. I'm running Walker Evans Beadlocks on the Jeep. They're 17x8.5. Tire and wheel combination runs about 125 lb/tire. I do get minor frame rubbing at full lock. You might want to check the required wheel offset/back spacing before committing.

Why are you going so wide?

Thanks for the pics and beautiful jeep! I was considering a 38" Goodyear but it comes in 14.50 also if I go 39" a lot of brands are 13.50 or 14.50. Just curious what it looked like. I like skinny too and don't want to go heavy so who knows may just stick to 37s.

mvbeggs: Is there a rational/practical reason for the "fastback" top, or is it merely aesthetic? You would be losing interior cargo space (not that you would stack much up high against the glass other than sleeping bags etc), which would be my concern.

Redthies, you are correct. You do give up some cargo space in the top rear of the Jeep with the fastback top.

For us it is purely aesthetics. With just the two of us traveling, along with the teardrop, we have more than cargo space.

SIDEBAR: The third pic above really doesn't reflect that last statement. ("more than enough cargo space") To our defense, that pic was from our trip out to pick up the Chaser from Adventure Trailer in Prescott. On that trip, we had 2 dogs with us, plus all the gear that needed to go into the Chaser for a 3 week trip. That was a fun trip, but man, did we have a ton of stuff! :)

Here's how we typically roll now:

Fender Consideration

You might want to check out your fender options. I'm running Bushwakers in an attempt to cover those wide tires. (BTW, Bushwakers were the widest fender I could find and they don't cover the entire tire.) If you get onto a wet muddy forest road, you will have mud everywhere. I've spent more time than I like hauling water from a creek washing mud off the Jeep just so I can open the door without dragging mud inside.

Good point I have the Nemesis flares and got the narrow ones so I think I need to just stick with the 12.5 wide tires. I already fling some mud the way I am now lol but I generally stay out of the mud unless I have to :chef:image.jpg

I second this. Am running 13.5" wide tires, with very very narrow front fenders... ended up washing 140 lbs of dried mud off the jeep yesterday from the trail ride on the weekend. Yes it was a muddy trail... but I shouldn't have been quite that muddy. I plan on having custom extensions made before spring to cover most of the tire. I also didn't want 13.5 tires... but they were damn near free, so I took them.
