Warn XD9000i with carrier | planning to run power to front and back

Hello All,

Going to be installing a winch on a 78 Bronco. The rear run will be about 17 feet.
I have a question regarding DC voltage and amps running through a 2 gauge cable running from the battery to the rear bumper and then terminated in one of these singlepole trailer connectors.
I plan to attach this male end onto the winch +/- and one on a extension that could be used as a jumper or extension to run the portable winch on another vehicle.

The xd9000i says that it can go up to 478amps. Will this set up I am planning be enough to avoid melting?
The Pollak stuff is rated up to 300 amps and will only fit up to 2 ga. Honestly I would like to go with 1 ga if I could find the correct connectors. I am not fond of the warn plastic connectors and they are only rated up to 175amps.

Thanks for your thoughts.

You'll need something bigger, if not for the current required, but to prevent voltage drop. Warn kit is probably the way to go.

I am sure Warn knows their business. But, i like bigger cable as stated above, for long runs. Anderson powerpoles are available in 350 amp size, with contacts/crimps for large cable. I have a 350 anderson on my rear bumper, ready to go. Right now, I use it for charging the battery in my trailer.

I am planning to add a multi-mount bracket, so I'll be adding some wiring, like you.
