On Saturday morning four of us met up at the Chelatchie Prairie store. We had one XJ, two TJ's, and one LJ all locked with the smallest being on 33's. We headed up the FS53 breaking trail all day and ended up at the intersection of the 53 and the 38. It took us about 5 hrs and it was a 19 mile trip. At the top were we camped there was over 5ft of snow under the jeeps.

Standing around the campfire Saturday night

4 to 5 inches of snow fell overnight. Around 1am my tent came crashing down. We knocked the snow off of it and went back to sleep. lol

Very cool trip! That is a ton of snow, we love that area up there and spent a lot of time camping up by Swift. without giving up your spot, where might one find FS53? I looked but had no luck.

If youve spent time up at Swift then im assuming that you know where the Chelatchie Prairie store is. The 53 road is east of the Chelatchie Prairie store.

Fantastic! Thoroughly enjoyed the photos and write-up. When I first read your location I wondered where you would go wheeling, but I forgot that heavy snow makes any road a challenge. I never was into cold n' wet, but your exploits sure make for a fun read. Thanks a million for posting!
