Water Tank Installation

Would appreciate some comments on what method I should use for mounting my 28 gallon water tank inside my trailer. I considered building a cage with 1" box channel but am looking to save weight. Could I strap it down using ratchet straps or something else?

Four D rings one on each side and ratchet straps would be the way I would go. This way is nothing too permanent if you have a need not to have the tank onboard.

I am looking into this for my build. I was thinking about something like one of these:

Tractor Supply has some different ones I like to but:

Could just use existing mounting holes to attach to deck inside trailer, also it is already set up with a pump and can even add a 12v heater. Hose could be adapted to fit what ever you want to have running water. Think I might do a 15 gallon tank and us some metal adjustable straps to hold it in. Just carry a few more water jugs and re-fill tank as needed that way the tank is not taking up a lot of space.

Just my though, but what were you planing for a water pump?

Edit:
Did not realize the 2nd picture was yours I see you already have a tank.

Already have a Ecotemp F-5 water heater and Flojet pump hence the need for the storage tank. Found out that even at a low setting the heater will consume about 1 gallon of water per minute so I went with a tank larger than 20 gallons and compromised on the weight. The Flojet works well and figuring out where all this stuff will go. Fridge, water tank and batteries pretty much determine the rest of the layout. Will probably figure out how to add a sink/faucet as well. Already did a bunch of thinking and will probably go the route suggested by IS-Rider above and put in some box-shaped brackets with a hole for ratcheting it down. Just want to make sure I don't have any worries about puncturing the tank. My build is here - http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/2nd-gen-builds/301096-arrowshots-build.html and after a shakedown cruise last weekend and finding a trailer that exactly met my needs I am moving most of my gear to the trailer.

I think I need a bigger truck!
I mounted mine on a rubber mat and used Home Depot strapping bolted through the tub. I cut strips of the same rubber mat to go under the straps so as to not damage the tank. Mounts solid and does not move. I am going to build a plywood shelf to go on the top to protect the tank and more importantly the fittings.

Water fill fitting is a marine unit in a home made aluminum bracket. Vent is in the same spot and it works awesome and keeps it secure from tampering inside the tub.

Super happy with the way this all worked out.

I would think you would be happy, that is exactly what I wanted to see (looks to be the same box I purchased) and where I am headed. Why did you mount what looks to be your primary access hose on top? I plan to mount mine at the bottom so I could simply the pressure of the water to push it out if the Flojet was not in use. What type of strapping is that??? I did a search on HomeDepot and didn't seem to come up with anything like that.

Do you think this method would work as well for two deep storage batteries and did you put some batteries in your build?

Hey there.
The strapping is pretty thick, cant remember what they called it offhand? It was located in the hardware isle with the steel rods and bulk metal (in an upright bin). The hose on top next to the fill tube is the vent line, in the top pic you can see the outlet to the pump at the bottom. in the corner. It works great and empties almost all of the water. I put 2 lengths of the rubber strips under the opposite end of the tank to lift the side opposite the outlet and I make sure when I camp that I have the trailer level or leaving slightly towards the pump.

Battery is in the nose box.
