I am starting to plan out my water set up on my trailer. I am going to be placing a LEER cap on top of the trailer instead of a lid. I have the cap acquired already. I have to widen the top frame of the trailer a little, but I have the plan of attack on that already.
I originally thought about putting a 21 gallon tank under the trailer above the axle. The tank I was looking at has 1 side of 8" which would fit nicely and give the axle plenty of clearance. I came across a larger tank locally for less than half the cost. It is a 12x12x30 24 gallon tank. This tank would not fit above the axle. I would have to mount it inside the trailer. I would rather not mount it in the center as it would take out a big chunk of floor space. Since I will be running the cap, the front of the trailer will be the hardest area to reach, so I could mount the tank up there, but that puts the weight ahead of the axle. Since I plan on running the battery box in the front as well, is that too much weight for in front of the axle?
Here is the trailer as it sits.
