What do you have your trailer outfitted with?

I will soon be getting an off road trailer M416 with a lid. I will be mounting my maggiolina airland on it and am looking for ideas to enhance it.

I am looking to see what people have done to add the following to their trailer:

1)battery and battery charger
2)fresh water holding tank with shower spigot. (have seen a slick setup on AT website)
3)Solar panels
4)Chuck box
5)trail tools
6) high lift jack
7)any other farkle you think was worth while
8)last but not least - bottle opener location.

Any pictures, description, built or purchased, how you added them and where parts were obtained. Any input would be great!

Once i get my trailer and add some stuff i will post it on the site.

They are in the skersfan build thread in this forum. If you need more shoot me a pm and I will email all that I have to you.

My future setup

I wanted to know what equipment people had on their trailers, where that equipment was from, and how it i was installed (with pics if available).

I currently have a 2010 JKUR with automatic. It works fine for me but it is a bit of a dog in the mountains. I think i may change to a 2012 JKUR with a manual as i believe it may be better for towing with the addition in power in little bit in torque.

So this is my anticipated setup once i get my trailer

JKUR
1) AEV lift (3.5)
2) insulation for the hardtop (I have soundcoat on my 2010, but it will not work on 2012 so will have to find alternative)
3) bestop under seat safe (will move from 10 to 12)
4) CB (again will be moving from 10 to 12)
5) Fridge slide for my Engle mt45. I will mount on RH side which i may relocate the sub.
6) replace all interior lights with LED's
7) thule track on the hardtop (will eventually be used to hold awning)

Longer term
1) rear bumper
2) front bumper
3) off road lights

Trailer (I ordered one from Sierra 4x4, and waiting to receive it - hopefully soon)
1) mount two Nato fuel cans - need to what mounts/holders fit the nato style
2) thule track
3) maggiolina airland (small extra long) was on roof, now going to trailer
4) maggiolina change room and additional awning (this is still up in the air) - still trying to get cost and lead time from autohome us.
5) high lift jack - not sure where that will go
6) ax and shovel - again not sure where yet
7) Electrical system for battery (this is were i need help)
here is what i want the battery system to do:
Charge when driving (requires 7 pin add to the JK)
Charge from solar panel
110v plug for shore power
ability to run fridge when needed
Power lights in maggiolina plus lights inside and outside trailer for nighttime
power water pump
8) water system (again need some advice)
Here again is what i want to do
i would like an external shower hose (AT has a cool quick disconnect system on their website)
I would like to mount a water tank and diaphragm pump under the trailer if possible so the tank will need to be low profile
Plumb in propane hot water heater (zodi or coleman)
9) Chuck box ( i have one already but i am not sure if it will fit in the back of the trailer with the folding tailgate)
10) solar panel - thinking of mounting a semi flexible panel to the top of the maggiolina. (kyocera semi flexible)

Lastly my preference is to make this durable so i plan on using marine grade hardware and weatherpack electrical connectors.

Thats all i can think of for the time being. So if you have some links or comments or photos about the above items please let me know. Your help would be much appreciated. As i get started along this path of modification i will document what i end up doing.

Why not? please post what you do instead. thank you.

the 2010 and earlier hardtops have basically flat.sqauared recessed sections on the fiberglass. The 2011 and on have a very large radius and the soundcoat profile will not fit. The recess in that area is about 1" deep. The soundcoat is die cut and fits nicely with the squared recess. The gap between the foam and the fiberglass is only about 1/8" on 2010. 2011 on it would be about 2 inches due to radius. I tried to attach a diagram but could not.

No takers on posting what you have your trailer outfitted with? Would it be better suited to change the post to collection of resources to aquire part for trailers?

Perhaps something like this:

Parts used for trailer builds

Electrical Parts

Waterproof automotive style electrical connectors -http://www.weatherpack.com/
Good place for different types of electrical parts - http://www.alliedelec.com/

Hardware
This is going to be used for the fresh water fill for the tank - http://www.amazon.com/SHURflo-183-029-14-Chrome-Pressure-Regulator/dp/B002OUPFOU
Looking to add this for 110v connection - http://www.marinco.com/product/15a-power-inlet-black

Hopefully i can get some of what i find as i go populated on this list. if you have items that people may be interested in for trailer builds - please post!

I was looking to somehow fit a system like this to the trailer for water and hot water for the shower. Found all of this on amazon. Does anyone have any experience with the hot water heater?

Valterra RK909 ABS Tank Fill Kit with Threaded with Cap and Cement $11.64
Valterra R8030 8" x 16" x 30" ABS Water Tank $72.46
SHURflo 255-313 Classic Series Twist-On Strainer (1/2" FPT x 1/2" ) $9.04
SHURflo 2088-422-444 2.8 Classic Series Potable Water Pump $69.48
Eccotemp L5 Portable Tankless Water Heater and Outdoor Shower $99.50

My thought was to mount the tank on the underside of my trailer although i think i would like a little flatter polyproplyne tank - not to sure about this. I am very intriqued by the water heater and using a pump.

Any thoughts or input would be great.

On a different note anyone purchase the full Clean waste go anywhere system? I have seen the toilet system before, but wanted to find out more about the privacy shelter. I want to be able to set up a privy and need to find a good toilet/shower shelter. Again any input would be great.

This link will take you to poly tanks in different dimensions and capacities. A few tanks as thin as 5" or so, lots at or under 8". http://www.watertanks.com/rv_tanks.html

BTW, your Jeep will need an AFE exhaust Y to ensure the front drive shaft clears the exhaust. AEV welds in an exhaust piece which also provides clearence when they do a turn key vehicle.

My teardrop has a permanent instant hot water heater, but for simplicity I think the Zodi Hotman has a lot to offer.

You might want to spring over the trailer. It is very simple. You will have to have someone weld in shock mounts. I have pictures of my set up on my photo site.

I am looking to see what people have done to add the following to their trailer:

I haven't done much, yet. But what I have done, suits my needs well so far.

Aux battery and inverter, 5lb LP tank:

Prep/cook table- stand up bar after dinner:

fwiw: On an M416, the tarp rope 'tab' on the center of the rear panel of the tub, works perfect as a bottle opener!!

I hang a plastic grocery bag over the hook, and it catches the bottle caps, and I place the empty's in it.

Table stored inside lid. It's up in the lid, makes for easy access:

I plan on many more upgrades and features, most from ideas I've found here on ExPo!!

Bill,
What did you construct the lid out of? Is it as it appears, wood with a sheet metal covering?

JPK,
Thanks for the link to the tank. Any idea where to get fittings which are not spin on? They listed a few bulkhead fittings which do not require spin welding, but there is no information.
