What happened to Sahara Tan for JKs?

I am another guy that wished they still made the tan color. That color with the new motor would be a great platform to go with.

I didn't think the tan was that nice, it was too shiny. It would have been a better color if the paint had a more satin topcoat to it. Of course it was way better than that squash yellow or pumpkin spice orange that are on some of the 2012s.

I call that the "Angry Pumkin" color... looked good on the old Waggys...lol

I cannot believed I missed the window for getting a latte coloured Jeep!:( Those of you who own one are lucky!

There have been rumors on a Jeep forum about a "Dune" colour to drop sometime later model year, or even on a special edition (maybe called the Arrakis?;)). Maybe the rumored Dune will be close to the TJ "desert sand pearlcoat" that is sadly missed.

It is sad, at times, to see the colour choices for the Jeep, when compared to the Toyota FJ Cruiser. Jeep should have base colour selection, to include OD and a desert shade, to keep within Jeep's military hertiage.

The more tan the better :)

Your tan JKU looks great and I like that you modified the OEM bumpers! I have seen the kit/caps for shortening the front bumper but is that an AEV tire carrier mounted on the OEM rear bumper? If so, thats very slick! Oh yeah.... and the tan winter wheels look great too.

Cheers

thanks guys- and yes, it is an AEV rear tire carrier. It is compatible with a few different bumpers, stock included. I actually chose the '11 Tan over the '12 as I couldn't find what I wanted truck wise. So, I bought the Mojave, and had enough funds to build it as is, and be done vs. a stock tan '12 Rubi- guess I should do a build thread at some point. Short list: 5.13s, HD axles, Det rear, TT front, sleeved front axle, C's gusseted, 3.5 AEV lift, 37s, 8274 on Warn mount, Tuffy two tier storage, etc.

Hey, Beowulf:
That's my truck! I love the color- and I used (notice I used) to hate brown or a brown tint on a truck. No more. I get more compliments on this trucks color than I have any Land Rover I ever owned.
You can still find this color around.
Go to the AEV site under New Trucks for sale.
There is (or was just a short few weeks ago) a Tan AEV for sale in the upper mid west. (somewhere in Michigan or Illinois).

Truck?, all I see is a GREAT looking Jeep, and a great looking color.
