I am removing a damaged roof vent from my van. I have a new Max Air roof vent to re-install in the opening. What is the best sealer/adhesive for re-installation of a Max Air roof vent?

I just used a metric f%#ton of Dicor , almost three years old and tons of UV rays later it has not leaked.

I researched this a couple weeks ago and settled on GEOCEL 2300 CLEAR Construction Tripolymer Sealant. Other sealants work but this material appears to have the best flexibility and adhesion.

Don’t laugh, but on my E350 I used the Hein adapter, butyl tape and aerosol FlexSeal. Been through a number of pounding rain storms, stationary and driving, and no leaks! It’s been installed like that for a few months. Van sits outside in the Phoenix sun all day too. No UV breakdown, yet....

Your question has been answered many times looks like, but......butyl tape UNDER the vent and goop around it and the screws topside with Dicor or equivalent after installation. You'll never touch it again.

I'm curious about this Flexseal stuff. May have to get a can and test it out.
