What is the blue connector behind my blank switch location?

SHORT STORY: Bottom row of three blank switch locations. Center plug. There is a blue connector all wired up and plugged into nothing just being held in place by the blank cover. What is this plug for?

LONG STORY: Alright, so I am doing some wiring of aux lights and I was going to put in an OEM fog light switch. I have a 2005 Tacoma TRD Off Road.

I popped out the switch blank plug from the lower row of three blanks, center position and there is a blue plug, wired and everything that is just plugged into the... um... plug. No switch. Does anyone know what feature that wiring is for?

I know Toyota often uses one wiring harness regardless of vehicle package options and then just puts a blank plug into the switch panel instead of a switch. So do I have a feature available that just needs a switch? I've read on a forum that all FJ Cruisers are wired for A-TRAC and just need a switch to make it work (where Toyota charges $2,600 extra for the feature package with A-TRAC).

Any thoughts?

On the manual trans trucks, it's the clutch start cancel switch.

I've got a manual trans and on mine it was the blank to the right of the clutch cancel that has several wires to it. I pulled it out and taped it over and just left it under the dash when I installed a lght switch there.

I am wondering what it's for though

DAC?

(downhill assist control)

That's what I was thinking. I saw a picture of an '07 dash that had a DAC switch there. Did they even offer DAC on the '05 in any option package? If so, can I get a DAC switch and install it and have DAC? Do I even want DAC? I figure if I can buy a $50 switch and get an added feature that would be cool... if it is a feature worth having and will actually function given my ECU programming, options, and current features.

The middle switch is CSC, and the leftmost switch is DAC. If the blue plug behind the panel is "floating around", it could be for either.

As far as whether you can just get a switch and have the feature, I seem to recall that this has been discussed and the conclusion is that unless you have the ECU and configuration for VSC and TRAC stuff, then you won't be able to (easily) add the switch and get the features.

This is what I have heard as well
