What makes an XJ an "expedition" XJ?

I am with the others mine was built to run rocks, took out 2" of lift and its a shorter rocker. I tried to be like all my buddy's and built a rock crawler /DD. now its parked beside garage getting ready for a major rework. I want a adventure Jeep. so I will rework it to do just that and plate it front to back. if i didnt have money tied up in axles, gears, lockers and suspension I would sell it and start over. 2" lift and 31s and drive it all over creation.

Story of my life. I'm honestly thinking of selling my deaver leafs..custom pack for 3.5" lift, and coils. And dropping to a 2" ome setup and back to 31s.

I've done the same on my chevy blazer- 35" mud tires, double CV shafts, axle relocation, shackle flips, .. and now sits waiting for me to redo her.

On my WJ, I've done nothing except maintenance, installed a stock transfer case skid, and a front warn hitch, mostly to protect the lower radiator and provide a front recovery point. The AC works, the cruise works, stock exhaust, put in a MP3/blue tooth phone thingy for the stock radio...

All I want now is rocker protection, and some polyethene sheets for a belly skid.

I get 18 on 33's......with the AC blowing cold and the cruise on pulling my empty m416! Sure i've done some beefing up but October will be my first actual "expedition" trip since we don't have all the cool stuff out here that Utah has. My Jeep is a trail/dd rig. Lockhart canyon will be the test of my trailer and my rig. For Hell's revenge, the trailer is staying at camp. 3500 miles in 10 days, sounds like an adventure to me! As far breakage because of big tires, I haven't had an issue, now that I have alloys up front and an 8.8, i don't see that being an issue.

Hills rarely look steep on camera - that must be really steep because it looks it.

Steep and muddy. The ground beneath the mud was frozen solid too.
