This thing eats tires, 60k on it, and almost done with the third set (last 2 are Cooper, 1st was Bridgestone)
Its has been 4 wheel aligned several times and is driven nicely.
Looking to try something different, we are in Ct, so they need to be ok in snow.
Thanks keith
thought about getting rid of it, but its in nice shape and payed for, new tires every 2 years is way cheaper than a payment:)

All around good tires: Michelin LTX M/S2 (My guess would be 80% on road. 20% off road, I know many ranchers who use this tire.) If you want something more aggressive:Michelin LTX A/T2 (Kind of a 60% on road, 40% off road) good for fire roads. From their read the forums BFG, Goodyear, Cooper, Hankook, Big O all make good A/T tires, read the forums and see what you like.

My wife's highlander is a 2003 model and runs exclusively on Michelin tires. We run two sets, a summer set of lattitude tour and a winter set of snowys. I want to say they're alpine ice but I forget exactly what they are, and they're in storage.

We don't 'wheel the highlander, its strictly a city car. For off pavement use we take my 80-series.

For a knobby tire you can't really beat the Michelin LTX either in MS2 or AT2 depending on what your expectations are. Do you want snow traction, or off pavement summer traction? Both are excellent tires, we run them on my Uncles RX330.

Now that you remind me,we had the LTX on our pathfinder with great success, maybe that will be the route to go. I can't recall the tire size/-it's the base model with alloy rims, including the spare
Thanks

My sister has Michelin LTX on her 2WD Highlander. They are GREAT tires. She has had em on for about 2 years now. She drives A LOT and so far no issues.

I had the LTX on an Isuzu Trooper: They are about as mild of a tread pattern as I would put on an all wheel drive vehicle. We put 60K on the tires, and traded the Trooper with tread left on them. Dedicated snow tires are great if you drive on snow packed roads all the time, but generally way over kill on a all wheel drive vehicle. If I lived in the mountains, and not just visited them on the weekends, I would run a snow tire. I also run LTX tires on an E350 van at work, and the run great, I tried to put the LTX AT2 on it but the tires were not in stock.

This is TireRack. Flip through to see what you like. The Firestone Destination LE2 and Michelin LTX MS2 seem to be the best options. With the michelin being more than $100 more for all four, firestone should do.
