What to do after an accident in Baja (it depends...)

Good luck with everything.

In the US, medical coverage generally pays for care rendered in regional network where you purchased it (when involving non-emergent care).

Its not suprising Mexico would want services rendered in Mexico.

What I count on is my medivac policy getting me the heck out and back to the US for care if something bad happens to me. Possessions can be replaced, and if necessary I'll just leave it all behind. That wouldn't be my first choice, but it's one I'm prepared to make.

When the **** really hits the fan, this is an excellent contingency plan.

If you have a possession so important you would rather die before losing, don't bring it with you. At the end of the day I'm not prepared to die for my "stuff".

I have things that I would be highly annoyed to lose, but I'd rather be alive and griping about losing them than the alternative.
