Just poking fun at the rather thin walled, rust prone frames that disappear after a few decades. No worse than early CJ frames, I gather . . . :)
I am rebuilding a 1955 Series 1 86" and also have another 1955 as a donor vehicle...both frames are incredibly solid and strong and only the outriggers need replacement. I'm not sure if it was because they were originally positive earth setups, but one was from Vancouver Island...salt air, and the other Alberta....salt roads...so go figure? I think that the later Series and Defenders used a cheaper steel...but these two are as solid as my 1991 Defender.

57 years old = almost 6 decades on the road:26_7_2:
